目的
由於香港各高等學府﹙香港大學、中文大學、科技大學、浸會大學、城市大學、
理工大學、嶺南大學、教育學院﹚一直沒有明確說明其處理合併高考成績的方法
，為著令各重考生於選擇重考科目、填寫其大學志願時有所參考，本人﹙亦為一
重考生﹚便興起撰寫此調查報告的念頭。
調查方法
用電郵方式去信香港各高等學府的入學組查詢其處理合併高考成績的方法。
信中問題有五項：
１．該校會否考慮合併後的高考成績；
２．如會考慮，會使用何年的成績去計算入學機率；
３．如會考慮，會考慮多少年的合併高考成績；
４．如會考慮，是否只會考慮頭兩年的高考成績；
５．如會考慮，重考生是否會被降級(down-grade)。

調查結果
以下為各校之回覆：
１．該校會否考慮合併後的高考成績
香港大學－our University accepts combined certificate for HKALE
examination.
中文大學－CUHK does not accept combined HKALE or HKCEE results.
科技大學－all applicants have to satisfy the minimum entrance
requirements in order to be considered and all the HKALE
subjects specified in the University's general and program
entrance requirements must be passed at the same sitting. The
only exceptions are the subjects AS Chinese Language &
Culture (CLC) and AS Use of English (UE) which may be passed
at any attempt.
浸會大學－The University considers combined HKALE results from 1999
onwards.
城市大學－You can use combined cert. for the admission for Bachelor's
degree programme.
理工大學－our University considers public examination results obtained
in multiple sittings on equal basis.
嶺南大學－we considers repeated sittings in examinations
教育學院－The Institute will also consider combined certificates
２．如會考慮，會使用何年的成績去計算入學機率
香港大學－In normal circumstances, we would focus on the higher grades.
中文大學－not applicable
科技大學－The selection criteria for the 2000/2001 academic year is not
yet finalized. In the 1999 admissions exercise the best
results obtained in all HKALE attempts were used.
浸會大學－Higher grade of the same subjects will be considered.
城市大學－we will consider the highest grade which can be attained in
any year.
理工大學－the best grade will be selected for calculation of admission
score points.
嶺南大學－takes the highest grade
教育學院－normally the best grade will be taken into account
３．如會考慮，會考慮多少年的合併高考成績
香港大學－We would consider all attempts of the HKALE examination.
中文大學－not applicable
科技大學－The selection criteria for the 2000/2001 academic year is not
yet finalized. In the 1999 admissions exercise the best
results obtained in all HKALE attempts were used.
浸會大學－Any two sittings of HKALE will be considered. For example, if
more than two years of HKALE were attempted, the best two
years of HKALE would be considered.
城市大學－any year
理工大學－any year
嶺南大學－any year
教育學院－We do not have any restrictions on no. of years attempt.
４．如會考慮，是否只會考慮頭兩年的高考成績
香港大學－No. (For HKCEE examination, we could consider 1st and 2nd
attempts only.)
中文大學－not applicable
科技大學－The selection criteria for the 2000/2001 academic year is not
yet finalized. In the 1999 admissions exercise the best
results obtained in all HKALE attempts were used.
浸會大學－The best two years of HKALE will be considered.
城市大學－no
理工大學－no
嶺南大學－no
教育學院－We do not have any restrictions on no. of years attempt.
５．如會考慮，重考生是否會被降級(down-grade)
香港大學－Yes it may be, depending on the decision of each Faculty.
中文大學－There will be downgradings for ALE repeaters.
科技大學－The selection criteria for the 2000/2001 academic year is not
yet finalized. In the 1999 admissions exercise applicants
were not penalized for retaking HKALE.
浸會大學－Results of single or combined sittings will be considered on
an equal basis.
城市大學－沒有回應
理工大學－our University considers public examination results obtained
in multiple sittings on equal basis.
嶺南大學－no
教育學院－沒有回應
總結
由調查結果可見，除中文大學外，其餘七所高等學府均會考慮合併後的高考成績
。而科技大學則只會考慮中國語文及文化和Use of English兩科的合併高考成績
。
會考慮合併後的高考成績的七所高等學府，均會以學生所得該科的最佳成績去計
算入學機率，唯浸會大學只會考慮成績較佳的二年高考成績。
香港大學及中文大學均會將重考生降級(down-grade)；而科技大學、浸會大學及
理工大學不會將重考生降級；城市大學及教育學院則沒有對此問題作出回應。
希望此調查報告能幫助各重考生。
